Come to a Guatemalan feast to benefit the Hogar Rafael Ayau Orphanage! Sunday, December 29th at 4 PM.
A delicious homemade dinner will be served following the presentation. We will enjoy hot hibiscus tea and Fresco de Pina, Melon y Fresa (fruit punch), Kaqik (red chile turkey soup), Curtido de repollo (cabbage salad), Guiso de Pollo, Lentejas y Garbanzos (chicken stew), Arroz Negro Con Chile Pimiento (black rice with red bell peppers), Ayote en Dulce (squash in spiced panela sauce), and Chilito (hot chile, onion, and lime sauce). Fellowship, coffee and Schwarzwaldkirschtorte and Apfelkuchen will complete the evening! A $20 donation is suggested.
We hope you can join us for a wonderful evening together! Reservations may be made with Heidi Kroll (252-2595), if possible, so we know how much food to prepare. But come to the feast, even if you decide at the last minute; we'll have made enough to be able to fill the dining room. We will even make a craft project!
If you are unable to attend the dinner, we encourage you to support the work of the orphanage to provide a home for the children. You can donate through their website, http://www.hogarafaelayau.org/.
